Located in Garfield, the Pedantic Arts Residency brings together three creative individuals to look at the significant impact that education, study, and structured contemplation can have on artistic output. Twice a year — in January and June — a writer, a curator and an artist are invited to gather in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they share and collaborate with creators, arts administrators and community representatives. This documentary features visual artist Akea Brionne, curator Chenoa Baker, and writer Chad Bilyeu. By emphasizing the art world tradition of interconnecting creators, and the city’s accessibility, the Residency provides a unique and encouraging space for exploration and creativity.
