The three inaugural residents included SHAN Wallaceย (first name spelled with all capital letters), a visual artistย from Baltimore who is inspired by the nuances ofย everyday life, namely Black domesticity and leisure, andย works across photojournalism and collage; Elise Butterfield, a curator, cultural producer, and disabilityย advocate from Chicago whose work through co-creationย with others focuses on the interaction between bodies,ย ideas, and space; and Joshua Ware, a writer and artistย from Denver whose interests encompass both theย confluence of text and image, as well as the intersectionย between organic and architectural forms which he callsย โbiomorphitecture.โ Principal funding for the project has been provided by the S. Kent Rockwell Foundation.
